Community Care

Caring For Our Waikoloa Community

“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you  hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
Matthew 25:44-45
At New Hope Waikoloa, we care about the people in our community, both near and far.  Our volunteers move with care and compassion to help feed our kupuna (elderly) by delivering meals as well as helping to distribute food to the needy.  The Food Basket provided the food and our people will provide their helping hands. Especially during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, when many were short on food to feed their families, our volunteers were right there to help!
Many of our kupuna would not leave their homes due to their susceptibility to the corona virus. So a huge MAHALO NUI to Mae-Lynn and Liki and their team of volunteers who help to cook and provide meals for our elderly shut ins. We are so grateful for all of you!

Mae-Lynn and Liki’s weekly mission is to make sure the kupuna in our community are provided for!

E Hanai I Na Hipa A Ke Akua

E Hanai I Na Hipa A Ke Akua is an outreach ministry of NHW, which serves the needs of our friends without homes at The Friendly Place in Kona. This minsitry, led by Pastor Rob and Doreen Dalton, provides physical, spiritual, and practical needs to those less fortunate.

Before Covid, they would drive over to Kona weekly to provide small meals, with a big meal once-a-month. However, since April 2020, NHW volunteers would prepare sandwiches twice-a-month and the Daltons would deliver them to either outside the gates of The Friendly Place or at the Old Kona Airport.

If you'd like to be a part of this very rewarding ministry, please call Pastor Rob at 808-497-4914.
