Our Mission
The purpose of New Hope Waikoloa is to deliver the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that it turns non-believers into believers (Evangelism), believers into Christ-followers (Edification), and Christ-followers into mature, productive leaders (Equipping); being steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord (Extension). It
is what drives us and moves us to do what we do.
is what drives us and moves us to do what we do.
Our Church Culture
Relationship Driven // Exalting Jesus in the highest place. (Philippians 2:9) Making our personal relationship with God our number one priority. (Matthew 22:37-39) Knowing the Father’s heart which is to have an intimate relationship with each individual and that we are to desire Him above all else. (Psalm 27:4) To live in communion with Him. (John 17:24)
Biblically Sound // All that we do will be grounded on His word, which we know to be truth. We will not alter His word but allow it to transform us by the renewing of our minds. (2 Timothy 3:16 , John 1:1-2 , Romans 12:2 )
Beacon // Because we are in Christ who is “the Light of the World” we have through our new nature become beacons reflecting God’s love to our community. The word beacon defines itself as a person or thing that warns, guides and offers support; a lighthouse. We are here to shine light into darkness, we are called to be “Fire-Starters” sharing the hope of salvation. (Matthew 5:14 , Isaiah 49:9, John 9:4-5)
Holy Spirit Led // When we accepted Christ as our Savior, our Advocate – the Holy Spirit was deposited within each of us. As we acknowledge Him in all that we do as New Hope Waikoloa we give way for the power of His presence to not only fill the church but change the atmosphere of our community. (John 14:26 , Romans 8:14 , Galatians 5:18 )
Power of Prayer // The power of prayer is undeniable, it is also our lifeline to the Father. Jesus exemplified His need to always spend time in prayer, this is how He knew His Father’s will. He gave us a great example of “How to Pray” in Matthew 6:9-15, we are heirs to the kingdom of heaven and are able to pray for His Kingdom’s promises and principles to be established here on earth, here in our community.
We are called to be persistent in prayer and to intercede for others. (Luke 18:1-8 , Ephesians 6:18 , James 5:14)
Loving Family // Loving others is an automatic reaction of our expressed love for the Lord. When we love the Lord with all our heart , soul and mind we can’t help but love our neighbors as ourselves. We are all part of the body of Christ, called to encourage one another, to bear up together…you aren’t alone, you are part of our “ohana” (family) here at New Hope Waikoloa. (Matthew 22:37-38, Romans 13:8 , Romans 7:4 , 1 Corinthians 12:27 , Colossians 3:15 , Romans 15:5 )
Commission // We are all commissioned to share the gospel that saves, the power of the Holy Spirit and the freedom that comes from His presence. We are a church that believes that we are called beyond the walls of our sanctuary to reach those in need whether rich, poor, old and young of our community. For freely we have received, freely we give. (Matthew 28:19-20 , Acts 1:8 , 2 Corinthians 3:17-18)
Adoration & Intimacy // Ministering to the heart of the Lord Jesus by giving God what He most desires, not because of anything He has done, but just because of who He is. (Psalm 145, Acts 13:2) Our heart’s desire is for Him above all else and to live in communion with Him. (Psalm 27:4 , John 17:24)
