October 30, 2017 – Understanding Jesus – Pr. Jerri Dizol
…for they still didn’t understand the significance of the miracles of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in. – Mark 6:52
Jesus’ very own disciples were still unsure of the miracles that He had been doing, and yet, they had front row seats to each one. How does this happen? What was it about the miracles that they didn’t believe in? Or was their unbelief in the person who was performing these miracles?
Our hearts must be open to receive the fullness of Christ. It is exactly what He wants for us. We cannot expect to understand Him if we don’t have a relationship with Him. Relationships begin when our hearts become ready to receive something new in our lives. The miracles that Jesus did was to Glorify His Father. It was also for His disciples to witness and testify of God’s goodness.
Today, we not only have the Bible to tell us of Jesus’ miracles, but we have the very miracles that happen within our family’s and friends. Our hearts became open to the things of Christ because we chose to believe. If Jesus can feed 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, then why would we look elsewhere for a miracle. Our heart is the most tender part of our bodies, and God knows this because He created us. Jesus’s heart is for all of His children to come and receive His many blessing’s, and to tell of it in hopes of others surrendering their lives to Him.
Father, thank you for your heart of love for me, and for your miracles that tell me of who you are. I pray that the more I come to know you, the more I want to share about you. Thank you that I get to tell others of you. In Jesus Name, Amen
