11/13/17 – The Big Picture – Pr. Jerri Dizol

Scripture:
But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought, and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever-faith, hope and love-and the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:10-13

Observation:
Our full understanding of God won’t come until we are face to face with Him. Everything we know now, including the Spiritual gifts we have, will one day become nothing. They are given to us solely for the use of building up the church and our brothers and sisters in Christ here on earth. The way that God see us now, is how we will one day see each other. Eternity is where we get to live in completeness with our creator, and with each other. We must love each other now, be in unity with each other now, so that when we get to heaven, we will finally see the big picture that God has been painting all along.

Application:
Love and unity are important to Jesus and should be just as important to us. The gifts and talents that I have are gifts from Him, and was intended for serving others in love. Jesus gave these gifts to me because He wanted to prepare me for life with Him. If I use these gifts with that in mind, then I am off to a good start.

Until I get to heaven, my prayer is that I am pleasing the Lord by loving and serving others. It is not always easy because I sometimes don’t feel like I want to. Especially when it comes to difficult people! I must remind myself daily, that I am not always easy, and can be as difficult too. It’s in those times that I see things imperfectly (vs 12), but I must push through and choose what is most important to Jesus

Prayer:
Jesus thank for your word today and for your unending love for me. Thank you for giving me such a clear picture of how you desire us to be. I pray that you will continue to use me to serve the very people that you created and that you love, and I look forward to having perfect clarity with you. All Glory and Honor is yours, and I am grateful to be used by You. In Jesus Name, Amen
