December 27, 2017 – Blessed To know That He Knows – Pr. Sonny Shimaoka

Scripture:
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take it to heart what is written in it, because the time is near…I know your deeds.” – Revelation 1:3 (NIV)

Observation:
The word “blessed” in context with this verse means to be divinely or supremely favored and fortunate. It can also mean to be happy or overjoyed. Why? Because God is in control over every event that takes place in human history. This includes my history. The phrase “I know your deeds or I know is repeated at least ten times in chapters 3 and 4. What does that mean? It means that nothing gets past Him! He notices everything that I go through in life. He is aware of my commitment to obey His Word and take to heart all of it.

Application:
The book of Revelation is the most “comforting” book in all of the Bible because those who read it and take it to heart will be the most highly favored and fortunate people on the planet. I like to tell people that the safest place to be on earth is “In Christ!” The world is literally hanging on a thread that can break at any moment. Believers however hang on to something more secure…the Word of God. God’s Word will never fall apart.

The great privilege that I have in the midst of all the chaos going on in the world, is that I get to proclaim that we win. I get to proclaim that I don’t know all that the future holds, but that I know WHO holds the future. I get to proclaim that is we are faithful to proclaim that Jesus is the ANSWER! I must stay the course no matter what the cost!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, like John, I too am truly blessed to read this book and take to heart what is written in it. Help me Holy Spirit to stay vigilant and aware when you are calling me to share my faith, especially since the time is not near but NOW! Thank you for including me for such a time as this…In Jesus Name…Amen.
