September 25, 2017 – Shining HIS Light – Pr. Jerri Dizol
No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where it’s light can be seen by all who enter the house. For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. – Luke 8:16-17
Jesus is the light for all mankind. He is the way, the truth, and the life for all who want to follow Him. Those who already know that, should also know that it is not to be kept hidden, but shared with everyone. And one of the easiest ways to do that, is to live our life with Him in mind, and the ultimate price that He paid for our freedom.
When the light of Jesus is illuminated within us, people cannot help but notice. And, that could spark a question or two about it. It’s our opportunity to talk about our Jesus and all that He has done for us! And how exciting that is, because we never know how that could change one’s life situation. It’s a part of the importance of our relationship with Jesus.
I have had many opportunities that I could share my relationship with Jesus and how He has blessed me, taught me lessons, and has loved me through every step of my journey with Him. Each of those times have been a blessing because Jesus’ light was what people saw. It’s also a blessing to me because I am reminded of the many times where He has shown Himself in ways that I would have never imagined. His light has also revealed things that needed to be removed from my life. All I have to say is that I am forever grateful for the times that I get to shine the light of Jesus, and testify to His goodness for me.
Father, I pray that as I grow closer to You, Your light becomes more and more evident. I also pray that all of my friends and family would come to know You so that they can help to shine your light in the world. Thank you for the opportunities you give for me to share You and for Your unconditional love for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
